Covid-19 Support Work: April and May 2020

We supported communities we work with during the lockdown period with food and cash support.

We worked through our community women leaders for this work in Guwahati, Kamrup,Barpeta, Sonitpur, Kokrajhar, Chirang and Karbi Anglong districts of Assam. We also supported 5 women in Mahendragunj, Meghalaya where one of our woman leader is based.

We have supported 509 families with food and 140 persons with cash support of Rs.1000 permonth for 2 months.

We reached out to single women, women with disabilities, aged women and families with healthcare needs with our support.

We called out to our friends, families and general public for money to support the communities. We received Rs.268,020 (two lakh sixty eight thousand and 20 rupees) as on 03.06.2020 through individual donations.

We came up with an e-book with 6 stories of women during the lockdown. The book titled Her Lockdown Story is written and illustrated by Shreejata Gupta and edited by Banamallika Choudhury. The book can be purchased for Rs.100 or more by transfering money to our account. We raised Rs.39,220 (thirty nine thousand two hundred and twenty rupees) from the sale of the book.

We thank all our donors and supprters for their contribution. Our target is to support 150 persons with cash support for 3 months. We still need to raise about Rs. 150,000 for this. Our call for donations is open. Do kindly contribute.
